DOB Digest: 500 East 14th Street Ready to Rise, More Residential at 4261 Park Avenue

500 East 14th StreetWith demolition nearly complete, developers have submitted foundation and structural plans for a two-building development spanning 500-530 (ex. 520) East 14th Street, in East Village. The two mixed-use buildings will both rise seven stories, and their total area will measure 188,900 square feet; Beyer Blinder Belle are designing.

Bronx:

4261 Park AvenueWebster Avenue HDFC has filed applications to construct a 12-story and 248-unit residential building of an enormous 211,520 square feet at 4261 Park Avenue, in East Tremont. Last week, YIMBY reported on the eight-story building planned for 411 East 178th Street, situated on the south end of the site. The 12-story building will stand at 4275 Park, where a one-story warehouse currently sits; COOKFOX is designing.

Brooklyn:

214 56th StreetTian Wang Zhang has filed applications to construct a five-story and 12-unit residential building of 8,392 square feet at 214 56th Avenue, in Sunset Park. Demolition of a derelict two-story structure was approved in April; City Building NY is designing.

Queens:

55-35 Metropolitan AvenueShaoyun Chen has filed applications for a three-story and two-unit mixed-use building of roughly 4,000 square feet at 55-35 Metropolitan Avenue, in Ridgewood. Ground-floor retail will span 1,623 square-feet, while the remainder will be split between two units; the lot is currently vacant.

80-35 237th StreetThe Islamic Foundation of New York has filed applications to construct a 4,572 square-foot religious structure at 80-35 237th Street, in Bellerose Floral Park. Previous applications were disapproved in 2011; the site is currently home to a residential abode.

87-07 215th PlaceThe owner of 87-07 215th Place — in Queen’s Village — has filed applications to construct a two-story, single family abode of 1,500 square feet, in addition to a new detached garage. Demolition was approved for an existing garage on-site, as well as the two-story house on the same plot of land facing Spencer Avenue.
