Construction is wrapping up on a 14-story, 159-unit mixed-use building at 203 Gramatan Avenue, in downtown Mount Vernon. That’s in southern Westchester County. It’s been dubbed La Port Apartments. All of the units, which range from studios to two-bedrooms, will be rented at below-market rates as affordable workforce housing, Westfair reported. Amenities include a fitness center, a children’s playroom, a media room, a lounge with a pantry, and a 4,000-square-foot rooftop deck. The base of the building will also host 20,000 square feet of retail space, of which Dollar Tree has already leased half. Atlantic Development Group, headed by Peter Fine, and Kenwood Equities are the developers, and GF55 Partners is the architect. After nine years in the development process, completion is expected in the next few months. Peter Fine is also planning a market-rate residential project next to La Porta Apartments, according to the Wall Street Journal.

  1. On 14-story very nice design, ordinary looks but stylish architecture.

My name is Gladys Santos; I am a senior of 61 yrs of age, living in Mount Vernon for many years.
I had been calling to inquire about appications for La Porte apts since February 2016 to the community developement dept in Mount Vernon, however every time I called I was told that apllication were not available. I called every month and was told the same thing. When I called in the fist week of July,2016 I was told that aplications may be available in November. I then called again on July 11 and was given a website to get an application, but I was not told the last day to submit the application would be July 12 so I mailed it in one day late. I hope that I will not miss out on this opportunity to acquire an apt, due to being given the wrong information regarding the availability of applications. Even still, I am grateful for the opportunity of being part of this community. I sincerely hope that I will be given a chance to acquire an apt in this great developement.
