Excavation work appears imminent at the site of the 51-story, 180-unit mixed-use tower under development at 15 East 30th Street, located on the corner of Madison Avenue in NoMad. Progress, which also includes apparent work on below-grade retaining walls, can be seen thanks to photos posted to the YIMBY Forums. The latest building permits indicate the tower will encompass 361,785 square feet and rise 756 feet in height.

There will be 7,519 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The residential condominium units will be located on the fifth through 49th floors and should average 1,644 square feet apiece. J.D. Carlisle Development Corporation and Fosun International are the developers. Handel Architects is behind the design and completion is expected in late 2019.

  1. Btw, it’s almost same height as Carnegie Hall Tower, 60 story, next to Carnegie Hall, on 57th street. This one is 51 story, due for low floors occupied by mechanical spaces and double height lobby and 2 story retail. “Pravda”, what’s this mean, a store name or restaurant name??? Also, this development was sued by located next door 55 story Sky House, since it’s blocking a view to them, it was even stop work order issued until it was solved, now it’s looks like all clear and excavation and foundation of this tall tower will be going to.

  2. Pravda! Hahaha, the rendering artist has a good sense of humor.

  3. Also, it’s another development next door on corner of 5th Avenue, 51 story too, and simular height too, another 700s footer. Also, just across the Madison Ave, another tall tower already in progress, also looks like 51 story and another 700s footer. So, 3 tall tower will be done by the end of 2019, making this as a skysraper cluster of 3 towers on 30th street between Park Ave South and 5th Ave, just few hundred feet between each tower, like East 22nd between Park Ave South and Madison, 3rd tall tower here is a Metlife Tower, early 20th century 700s footer classical building, with famous clock tower on top.

  4. Who, knows, maybe developer is actually Russian, so it’s a “Pravda”, but I think it’s a name of boutique or restaurant.

  5. Fosun International, it’s a co-developer, maybe they’re Russian or Chinese. So, it’s a “Pravda”, and looks like a book store on rendering or boutique.
