Reveal For 114 Jefferson Street, Bushwick

Back in August of 2016, YIMBY reported on new building applications that were filed for a site off the corner of Evergreen Avenue and Jefferson Street, in Bushwick. Now, we have the reveal for the site, which is being designed by Joshua Felix of J Goldman Design/Beam Group.

The site is currently occupied by a 2.5-story structure that is only remarkable for its visual discordance. The new structure will technically only measure four floors to its rooftop, but it will still stand taller than the neighboring building, with units evidently including mezzanine levels.

The building will measure 5,966 square feet in total, and there will only be eight units, or two per floor. One of the ground floor units will have access to the cellar space, and one of the penthouse units will have an exclusive mezzanine area, but the average size of each unit will be 682 square feet, which is highly indicative of rentals.

Design-wise, the building will have an interesting facade composed of various types of metal, harking to some of the surrounding area’s semi-industrial past and present. The center of the building will be defined by an extruded area that appears to be covered in cor-ten or something similar, and the result will also give street-facing units the contemporary equivalent of Juliet Balconies. The result will be distinctive and attractive infill.

Moshe Friedman is the site’s developer. Demolition permits for the existing structure were filed last September, and completion of its replacement is expected in approximately 2019.

Hello..YIMBY..this is difference of design-wise apparently and I suddenly focused on balconies, quickly noticed to the create that I never met your reveal before. It’s nice to meet new building in Bushwick, especially the entrance very extra with prominent blue color. I will count how many colors on the reveal (one-two-three-four-five-six-seven on lights).
