79 Eldridge Street Awaits Further Progress on Manhattan’s Lower East Side

Construction appears stalled on 79 Eldridge Street, a 14-story hotel building on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by Ellipses Design and developed by DLC Development, Inc., the structure is planned to yield 48 rooms and a 1,243-square-foot common space. Seven-Story, 27-Unit Residential Redevelopment Tops Out at 1004 Gates Avenue, Ocean Hill

Construction has topped out and façade installation is underway on the seven-story, 27-unit residential redevelopment underway at 1004 Gates Avenue, in Ocean Hill. The building’s design has also slightly changed, as seen in a rendering courtesy of a tipster. The latest building permits indicate the project measures 28,708 square feet, which means its residential units should average 1,063 square feet apiece. The apartments, rentals, will boast layouts with two- to three-bedroom configurations. The Brooklyn-based Loketch Group is the developer and Williamsburg-based Ellipses Design is behind the design. Occupancy is expected in early 2017.

10-Story, 38-Key Hotel Filed At 79 Eldridge Street, Lower East Side

Osher Niyazov, doing business as a Forest Hills-based LLC, has filed applications for a 10-story, 38-key hotel building at 79 Eldridge Street, on the Lower East Side. The new building will measure 16,969 square feet in total and individual hotel rooms should average 346 square feet apiece. Guest amenities will include a fitness center and a café in the cellar. Queens-based Julien Flander is the applicant of record, although Ellipses Design will be responsible for the architecture. The Lo-Down reports New Jersey-based Shew Foo Chin acquired the vacant 25-foot-wide lot for $5.3 million this past February. The specific hotel brand has not been revealed.
