Excavation appears to be imminent at 144 Barrow Street in Manhattan‘s West Village, the site of a seven-story residential building. Designed by BKSK Architects and developed by 144 Barrow Street LLC, the 24,800-square-foot structure will yield 16 units and 1,800 square feet of ground-floor commercial space. Titanium Construction Services Inc. is the general contractor for the project, which is located on a relatively narrow 5,000-square-foot site bound by Christopher Street to the north and Barrow Street to the south.

Demo permits have been filed for 14 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village, the site of a planned 19-story residential tower designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects and Hill West. Located between East 8th Street and East 9th Street with 52 feet of frontage along Fifth Avenue, the property is currently occupied by a four-story residential building with 20 units. Madison Realty Capital is listed as the owner behind the application, after purchasing the 5,255-square-foot site for $27.5 million in 2015.

Renderings Reveal Six-Story Multifamily Building at 15 Greenwich Avenue, Greenwich Village, Manhattan

Earlier this week, Meltzer/Mandl Architects revealed the first renderings of a new six-story multifamily building at 15 Greenwich Street in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village Historic District. Drawings and illustrations of the proposed development were revealed in a public hearing with the Landmarks Preservation Commission, which must issue a Certificate of Appropriateness before construction can break ground.
