Façade installation is progressing on 140 West 24th Street, a 416-foot-tall hotel tower in Chelsea. Designed by Gene Kaufman Architect and developed by Sam Chang, the 45-story building will yield a total of 142,949 square feet and 508 rooms. Omnibuild is in charge of the construction process, which is occurring between Sixth and Seventh Avenues.
Madison Realty Capital has begun construction on a new mixed-use complex located near the southern boundary of Woodside, Queens. Developed in partnership with the New York City School Construction Authority, the complex will include a new public school, 478 mixed-income apartments, retail, and public outdoor space.
Permits have been filed for a six-story residential building at 948 New York Avenue in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. Located between Church Avenue and Snyder Avenue, the interior lot is three blocks east of the Church Avenue subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. Shia Unsdorfer under the 948 New York LLC is listed as the owner’s representative behind the applications.
New renderings reveal a total overhaul of Port Authority Bus Terminal that would modernize and brighten the notoriously blighted Midtown transit hub. The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey recently announced a $10 billion renovation planned to begin in 2024 and complete around 2031, and is expected to be built without the need to expand beyond the current boundaries of the terminal, which is located on two parcels of land between Eighth and Ninth Avenues and West 40th and 42nd Streets. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo praised the much-needed transformation of the site in the hopes of becoming a “world-class transportation hub worthy of New York.” No announcement has been made on the architect for the project.
HAP Investments has unveiled updates for a new high-rise residential building in Jersey City. Located at 500 Summit Avenue, the building will eventually tower 42 stories above the Journal Square section of the city and comprise 902 rental apartments.
