Sage Realty and Principal Real Estate Investors have secured a $127.5 million financial package to complete major capital improvements at 77 Water Street, a 26-story commercial building in Manhattan’s Financial District. The scope of work will focus on the pedestrian plaza at the foot of the property, upgrades to the lobby, and a redesign of the existing arcade.

55 Suffolk Street’s Brick Façade Nears Completion on Manhattan’s Lower East Side

Façade installation is finishing up on 55 Suffolk Street, a 30-story residential tower in the two-building Broome Street Development complex on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by Dattner Architects and developed by Gotham Organization, the 310-foot-tall structure stands directly to the east of The Norfolk Senior Housing Building, its 16-story sibling at 64 Norfolk Street. The complex rises from a shared podium and will yield a combined 387,223 square feet with 493 rental units, of which 43 percent will be dedicated to permanently affordable housing. Monadnock Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is located between Suffolk and Norfolk Streets.

Construction Rises on Domino Sugar Refinery Redevelopment at 292 Kent Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Construction is rising on the The Refinery, a commercial conversion and expansion of the 140-year-old Domino Sugar Refinery at 292 Kent Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Designed by Practice for Architecture and Urbanism (PAU) and developed by Two Trees, the $250 million project will convert the former manufacturing plant into a modern office complex while preserving the structure’s historic brick façade, arched windows, and chimney. The Refinery will stand 235 feet tall and feature a new 27,000-square-foot barrel-vaulted glass dome for a penthouse office space, as well as fully rebuilt interiors by Dencityworks and Bonetti/Kozerski, new landscaping and outdoor seating surrounding the ground floor, and reworked Domino Sugar signage above the roofline. The development is the centerpiece of the Domino Sugar master plan by SHoP Architects and James Corner Field Operations and is located to the west of Kent Avenue between South 2nd and South 3rd Streets.
