The Williamsburg development boom continues apace, and today YIMBY has the details for a mixed-use project that is coming to 72 South Second Street. T.F. Cusanelli & Filletti Architects in collaboration with INNOCAD architecture will be designing the building, which will result in a completely refurbished corner fronting directly onto Wythe Avenue, and we first reported on the DOB applications back in September of 2016.

The building’s first floor will total 3,750 square feet, encompassing both 72 South Second Street and the corner lot adjacent. Within, there will be both commercial space, and a community facility.

Up above, the rest of the redevelopment will be residential, with condominiums expected. The second floor will total 2,954 square feet, the third 2,553 square feet, and the two top levels will both clock in at 1,425 square feet apiece. That component will be split between seven units in all.

The lot is 50 feet wide, and the design will do a nice job of integrating the old building at the corner. While total demolition would probably be more appropriate, the end result will still improve upon a formerly vacant parcel.

Brooklyn Bardo 72 LLC is listed as the developer, and they acquired the vacant lot at 72 South Second Street for $650,000 back in 2015. Completion is likely by 2019.

Please pardon me for using your space: People, vehicles, properties, transit can call it, it is city lifestyle.

  2. Thanks Yimby for lot size and purchase price. The Yimby of old. Good morning David and Happy New Year. Yes you David the other frequent commentator.
