Permits have been filed for a seven-story mixed use building at 37-01 30th Street in Astoria, Queens. The site is ten blocks away from the Astoria Boulevard subway station, serviced by the N and W trains. While the project is not close to any new development, it is on a retail-rich avenue, which includes several national-brand stores. An anonymous LLC is behind the applications.

The 75-foot tall structure will yield 184,085 square feet, with 133,450 square feet dedicated to residential use, 10,980 square feet for manufacturing space, and 10,950 square feet for ground-floor commercial space.

146 vehicle and 110 bicycle parking spaces will be created below ground, connected with a recreation room. Unspecified manufacturing space will be located on the first floor.

Tenants will have a lobby and recreational space on the second floor, with no other listed amenities. 199 apartments will be created in all, averaging 670 square feet apiece, indicating rentals.

Aufgang Architects will be responsible for the development

Demolition permits have not been filed, and the estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. Did you mean 37-01 30th Avenue (instead of street)? 37-01 30th Street is down by the 36th Avenue subway stop, and looks like it is currently some kind of lot filled with cars and shipping containers, definitely not on a retail-rich avenue. If it is indeed 37-01 30th Ave, then the nearest train would be the 30th Ave station six blocks away, not Astoria Boulevard. Where can we find this building permit?

  4. Where’s the housing for the working poor and middle income people.

  5. this photo is wrong – that’s under the train on 31st st

  6. Leave astoria alone, stop eith the gentrification enough is enough overpopulating our neighborhood

    • Gentrification will increase your properties value… so in the end you benefit from it along with the developers who gentrify the neighborhood.

Nearest train is 36th Avenue at the corner only steps away & 3 stops on N line to Lex. & 59th/60th Street not Astoria Blvd.

  9. The picture in the article is Lou Hardware @ 36-10 31 St. The property not a block-through property, there are 4 1970s vintage single family homes on the 30th street side. Those are not coming down.

You should be showing the property at the listed address which is about a block away – a vacant/parking lot and an older factory building.
