Permits have been filed for a four-story mixed-use building at 214 15th Avenue in the affluent Bay Terrace subsection of Bayside, Queens. A large parking lot-centric commercial center is just five blocks away, but the nearest public transit, the Queens Village train station serviced by the LIRR, is 7 miles away, or a 1-hour commute by bus. Dun Xing Zhang is listed as responsible for the development.

The 40-foot tall structure will yield 28,070 square feet, with 5,320 square feet dedicated to a daycare facility, and 14,160 square feet dedicated to residential use. 18 apartments will be created, averaging 787 square feet apiece, indicating rentals. Residents will have access to a lobby, laundry, storage, and a shared outdoor terrace on the fourth floor. 15 parking spaces will be included below ground.

Tan Architect P.C. will be responsible for the design.

Demolition permits have not been filed yet for the existing structure. The estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. Please pardon me for using your space: Waste won’t be found on report from Andrew Nelson. (Hello YIMBY)

  2. Please check your facts about public transportation. There are 2 local bus lines with stops within 2 blocks of this address; an express bus to Manhattan stops within 3 blocks; the Bayside station of the LIRR is less than 2 miles away. All of these are certainly viable public transportation options and most definitely closer than the Queens Village LIRR station. Please report responsibly.

  3. Not wanted or needed in this neighborhood!!!! Way to ruin a perfectly lovely place to live!!!!!
    NO MORE COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT HERE!!!!!!!

How is this possibly getting approved? This is a residential location… not on a main block. And adding an additional 18 apartments to this location will be devastating to the neighbors… parking here is already a serious problem. I know it says parking is available for the tenants… certainly never enough. If I lived here I would be making a very loud noise about this!!

  5. All I have to say is that there has been a whole lot of ugliness with these out of character buildings and establishments saturating the neighborhood and no body gives a damn anymore cause the ones who gave a damn left partly for this reason. It’s beyond me how this even got approved. Zoning my ass. This area used to be so nice now it’s like any other dump in Queens thanks to these greedy developers sending us to the dogs

  6. this will destroy a street that is already over crowded. this section has a 3 building high rise complex and dozens of 4 family structures. this property housed one of those houses. this is disgraceful
