25 Kent Avenue’s Scaffolding Comes Down As Its Facade Goes Up in Williamsburg

Located in Williamsburg along Kent Avenue, between North 12th Street and North 13th Street, the full-block, eight-story structure at 25 Kent Avenue will soon contain over half a million square feet of office space. Combining 15-foot high ceilings for the office floors with waterfront views of Manhattan and Bushwick Inlet Park, future tenants will also have access to multiple outdoor terraces stepping up to a landscaped rooftop. The Hollwich Kushner-designed building, with Gensler serving as the design development architect, has been steadily racing towards completion, and is developed by Rubenstein Partners and Heritage Equity Partners.

Thanks to photos by Tectonic, we can see the beautifully and richly dark red brick facade, combined with the expansive tall glass panels on the short ends of the building. Large concrete columns are used for 30-foot wide spans, and are set back from the facade itself, allowing more windows and daylight exposure while maintaining a spacious interior working environment. There will also be a light manufacturing facility in the building.

The bottom sub-floor will have a 27,699 square foot amenity space, adjacent to a 48,582 square foot parking garage.  The ground floor has 22-foot high ceilings covering 43,792 square feet. The second floor ranges from 29,245 square feet to 58,572 square feet depending on which wing of the building one is standing on. The Third floor has the largest footprint with 73,345 rentable square feet and gradually decreases towards the eighth floor, covering 54,042 square feet. The rooftop terrace caps the building with 11,936 square feet of open air and plentiful light.

Amenities include underground parking for workers, bike storage, showers, and locker rooms. Landscaped plazas will surround the corners of the building, which is also conveniently located close to a number of local cafes and hangout spots like Brooklyn Bowl, the William Vale, Radegast Hall & Biergarten, and the Music Hall of Williamsburg.

The building is expected to be completed sometime next year once the interior and exterior finishes are done. As reported in the previous update of 25 Kent Avenue, a TAMI/Maker Hub is expected to open later this Fall.

  1. Please pardon me for using your space: Responsibility on construction head to beautiful views.

  2. Only thing left to do is find office tenants willing to pay big rents in northern Williamsburg…

    • As long as there’s an easy commute there, I think this’ll be a success. Many companies are looking for workplaces out of Manhattan.
