Permits have been filed for a new nine-story residential complex at 2016 Arthur Avenue in The Bronx’s Tremont neighborhood. The site is eight blocks away from the Tremont train station, serviced by Metro North. Jeff Fox of Foxy Management is responsible for the development, and the firm purchased the lot for $4 million earlier this year.

The 95-foot tall structure will yield 140,420 square feet for residential use within. 177 apartments will be created, averaging 790 square feet apiece, indicating rentals. Included on site will be a live-in super, laundry, bicycle storage, a green house for gardening, and a passive outdoor recreation space on the ground floor.

An eighth-floor lounge will include several more amenities. This will include a reading room, arts and crafts space, a computer room, fitness center, and two outdoor terraces.

SLCE Architects are listed as the architects of record.

There is a good chance that the development will include a significant amount of affordable housing.

The lot is currently vacant, meaning construction can start as soon as permits are approved. The estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. Please pardon me for using your space: Necessary for development with Andrew Nelson. (Hello YIMBY)

  2. Sounds really good but 177 apartments?
