Permits have been filed for a four-story residential building at 529 East 187th Street in the Belmont neighborhood of The Bronx. The site is five blocks away from the Fordham train station, serviced by Metro-North, and eight blocks from the Fordham subway station, serviced by the D trains. Four blocks further is the 4 train. Michael Rocco is listed as behind the applications.

The 46-foot tall structure will yield 9,040 square feet, with 7,460 square feet dedicated to residential use. Ten apartments will be created, averaging 746 square feet apiece, indicating rentals. The top floor will include a duplex extending into penthouse space. Residents will have access to storage and a ground floor recreation area.

Badaly Architects will be responsible for the design, a traditional masonry structure.

The lot is cuurently vacant. Completion can be expected in 18 to 24 months from approved.

  3. it is the 4 train that Andrew means and it is much too far to walk from 529 east 187 street.

    • Thanks for the correction! And agreed that it is too far to walk in normal circumstances, but in my experience, it is comforting to have a second subway option, even if very distant.
