Permits have been filed for a 13-story mixed-use building 137-61 Northern Boulevard in Flushing, Queens, which will include a 244-key Westin Hotel. Century Development signed an agreement in late 2016 with Starwood Hotels & Resorts to build the Westin as part of the project. George Xu will be responsible for the development.

The 152-foot tall structure will yield 228,000 square feet, with 100,880 square feet for the commercial hotel, 2,270 square feet for community facility use, and 42,100 square feet of residential space. 244 guest rooms will be created for the Westin Hotel. An additional 38 apartments will be included from the tenth floor up.

The building will include 64 vehicle parking spots and 40 bicycle parking spaces. Guests of the hotel will have access to a swimming pool, fitness center, ballroom, laundry, storage, and conference rooms.

Raymond Chan Architect will responsible for the design. Renderings show a curtain wall façade clad with light silver metal.

Demolition permits for the existing grocery store were filed in late August this year. The estimated completion date has not been announced.

  3. I hate this. I’m going to miss this Great Wall supermarket. And now there’s going to be all this loud and dusty construction in already polluted Flushing.

    Honestly who approves these things? The construction is already ridiculous and the amount of pollution Ive been exposed to due to these constant projects is getting frustrating. They just built a ton of new buildings on the block they should occupy those before constructing more places not for the people of flushing but for tourists? Im voting this time bec the corruption is obvious.
