Demolition permits have been filed for the one-story building at 151 Broome Street, on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Located between Clinton Street and Pitt Street, the mid-block structure has been home to Little Star of Broome Street, an early childhood center servicing the neighborhood. Kevin Cronin of the non-profit organization Grand Street Guild is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The day care center will be replaced with with 400 affordable housing apartments that will come in the form of two 15-story towers. Handel Architects is responsible for the design.

Nearby transit is less than a half mile away and includes access to subway lines F, J, M and Z at Delancey St-Essex Street.
