New construction permits have been filed for a six-story residential building at 144-60 37th Avenue, in Flushing, Queens. Located between Parsons Boulevard and 147th Street, the interior development site is one block south of Northern Boulevard. The Murray Hill LIRR train station is half a mile east and five blocks west is the Main Street – Flushing subway station, serviced by the 7 train. Queens-based Wantai Management Group is listed as the owner behind the applications. This appears to be the first residential project for the developer.
The concrete building will yield 29,811 square feet, with 17,801 square feet dedicated to residential space. 25 units will be created in the 55-foot tall structure. Averaging 712 square feet each, these will most likely be rentals. There will be 5,231 square feet allotted to commercial space, resulting in 15 enclosed parking spaces.
Elmhurst-based Chang Hwa Tan of Tan Architect is listed as the architect of record.
No demolition permits will be needed as the lot is vacant. The estimated completion date has not been announced.
