Permits have been filed for a 70-foot tall apartment building at 435 Tompkins Avenue in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. Located on the corner of Tompkins Avenue and Halsey Street, the lot is diagonally opposite from Potomac Playground. The Kingston-Throop Avenues subway station, serviced by the A and C trains, is three blocks away. Benjamin Pinover of Dragonfly Design Build is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed seven-story development with 37,868 square feet will have have 27,136 square feet designated for residential space. While details of makeup of units are not public, this project will most likely be rentals as the 40 residences will have an average size of 678 square feet apiece. Plans for the masonry structure also include a 44-foot long rear yard and 20 enclosed parking space.

Ralph Kowalczyk of Issac and Stern is listed as the architect of record.

No demolition permits have been filed as of yet for the 1910’s three-story mixed-use building currently on the property. The estimated completion date has not been announced.

  2. I really like this building with its’ charming curved storefront. I wish there was a way to incorporate it into a new development instead of reducing it to dust. No doubt the new development will have less soul.
