Permits have been filed for a ten-story affordable housing building at 3401 3rd Avenue, between East 166th Street and East 167th Street in Morrisania, The Bronx. Comunilife, a non-profit organization that provides housing to homeless adults struggling with HIV/AIDS, serious mental and behavioral health issues, and other chronic medical conditions, is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 121-foot tall development will yield 98,038 square feet, with 92,038 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have 148 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 621 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar. The nearest public transportation are the 2 and 5 trains at Prospect Avenue and the B train at 167th Street.

Alexander Gorlin Architects is responsible for the design.

    There goes the neighborhood.

  2. 10 stories here, 10 stories there. What a time to be alive!

  3. This affordable housing projects are just screwing up the decent neighborhood, with the unwelcome crowd that comes along with it. e.g guys hanging out in front of the building at all time. selling drugs, gambling.

I was a big supportive of this kinds of developments, but no longer. They seem to be mini housing projects. The city needs better regulations for this developments.
