Construction is progressing at 145 West 47th Street in Times Square, where a 343-room hotel is in the works. The 27-story, 141,500-square-foot structure is being designed by Berg + Moss Architects and developed by Tribeach Holdings.

New photos show the current state of the reinforced concrete structure. Work has passed the first setback and crews are beginning to form the first levels of the hotel portion.

The podium levels that have been going up over the past several months will house a multi-level parking garage. This portion of the building will be covered with opaque exterior panels, with vehicle access on the eastern end of the property. Guests will come into the main lobby through a wide entrance that sits underneath a large, suspended canopy. Meanwhile, a ribbon window will stretch above and across the fifth floor, housing a restaurant that overlooks West 47th street. Construction crews are currently working on the sixth floor, where the hotel portion of the building begins with three guest rooms. Floors seven through 26 will house about 17 rooms per level behind a uniform curtain wall of glass windows. A flat roof parapet will top off the project.

An official rendering of the hotel has not been released yet. The most recent depiction available is the preliminary rendering on the construction fence. It is also unclear who will be the new hotel tenant.

Work on 145 West 47th Street is scheduled to be completed next winter.

  1. I want to persuade you to agree or do what you want with work in progress, find the time to complete it. Become friendly with your report, it looks like start a career as I am commentator. No punishment if you don’t like the development, for me I have a friendly relationship with you. (Thanks to Michael Young)

    • Please pardon me for sticking up the place: I think you may be suffering from a stroke! Seek medical attention immediately!!!

  2. Hotel construction in Manhattan is way out of hand. We need to start closing more of the older ones.
