Permits have been filed for a ten-story mixed-use building at 1047 Beach 21st Street in Far Rockaway, Queens. Located between Cornaga Avenue and Central Avenue, the lot is one block south of the Far Rockaway Mott Avenue subway station, serviced by the A train. New York City Economic Development Corp. (EDC) is listed as the owner behind the applications. Since late 2015, the EDC has been carrying out initiatives to strengthen and revitalize the Downtown Far Rockaway’s existing infrastructure by bringing new commercial and residential developments to this community.

The proposed 102-foot-tall development will yield 255,237 square feet, with 181,762 square feet designated for residential space, 22,265 square feet for commercial use, and 7,270 square feet for community facilities. The building will have 224 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 811 square feet. The masonry-based structure will also have a cellar and 96 enclosed parking spaces.

Alen Moghaddam of Urban Architectural Initiatives is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the lot is vacant. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

I would like to be a receptionist at the management office in the future how do i go about that. I’m bilingual and i have experience. My email is [email protected]

  3. I believe this project has already been finished. It was sold to CB14 as a motel. Now it sounds like it is becoming a shelter.

Yes. It’s a so called Best Western hotel but I have the same feeling you have Sam. Just like the one by the A train. And there’s a La Quinta nearby too. I think it’s still there. Ugh.

  4. Horrible. How is this a good development when you have a bunch of derlicks living there.

  5. The site on that photo is not the project. That is the Best Western that was just built. This project is a new mixed income residential building with ground floor retail on the parking lot next door. It was an RFP site issued by EDC in 2017. A non profit developer is building it.
