Permits have been filed for a 17-story mixed-use building at 54 Crown Street in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Located on the corner of Franklin Avenue and Crown Street, the lot is about five blocks from the Eastern Parkway-Brooklyn Museum subway station, serviced by the 2 and 3 trains. Carmel Partners is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 175-foot-tall development will yield 467,656 square feet, with 389,007 square feet designated for residential space, 7,483 square feet for commercial use, and 1,505 square feet for community facilities. The building will have 569 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 683 square feet. The steel-based structure will also have 182 enclosed parking spaces.

David West of Hill West Architects is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the lot is vacant. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. Nearing the achievement at a 17-story mixed-use building, I mean on plan to future construction. Happening at this time with its permits filed, and course of study in design not appear here. So don’t worry about it, because these words will develop for property in the same way. Next I would like to see modern ideas, or being done by crane that make it possible to forward movement. (Thanks to YIMBY)

  2. 569 units? How did this get past the NIMBYs? If it did, love it!

  3. I hope that this structure be a recessed structure, so that natural sunlight would not be retarded. it must bear some relation to the educational institution next door – Medgar Evers College. I notice that no mention was made that is that this facility would be next to an inner city College…..Oh I see!!! its predominantly black? But may I say here…this college has one of the best Social Studies program of all CUNY Colleges, the Bio Chemistry department is right up there with them and its serves all quadrille of the Borough of Brooklyn NY. Just saying.

  4. I hope they will have low income units 40 60 80 100 AMI that’s what needed in CH

  5. I will be interested in renting a low income one or two Bedroom and Bathroom when the Building is available for occupancy in the near future.Thank you in advance for your hospitality.
