Demolition on one of several buildings at 10-14 West 57th Street has been completed. The remaining neighboring structures sit empty and will soon come down to make way for a 52-story mixed-use skyscraper designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill. James Patterson of Ancora Engineering is the applicant of record. Sheldon Solow, chairman of Solow Realty & Development Group, is the developer for the site and Anthony Calicchio is listed as the owner behind the applications. The new 672-foot-tall, 383,000-square-foot skyscraper will contain 80 residential units spread across 202,738 square feet of space.

New photos show one of the low-rise buildings already fully demolished, while the adjacent structures have been emptied out.

The new building’s first four floors will be dedicated to retail, and a hotel will straddle the next five levels. Apartments will average 2,534 square feet and will occupy floors 11 through 50. To date, no renderings for the new SOM-designed skyscraper have been released. The ground-up residence may not be a supertall like its record-breaking neighbors on Billionaires’ Row, but it will still make a mark on the skyline above Central Park South. The roof of 10-14 West 57th Street will only be 17 feet shorter than the Solow Building, and have north-facing views of Central Park and Midtown in all other directions.

A start and completion date for the construction of 10-14 West 57th street has not been announced.

    Money laundering works.

  2. What is happening with the cleared site across the street, directly west of the Solow Building?
