Permits have been filed for a four-story school at 639 St. Ann’s Avenue in Woodstock, The Bronx. Located on the corner of Rae Street and St. Ann’s Avenue, the lot is three blocks west of the Jackson Avenue subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. New York City School Construction Authority is listed as the owner behind the applications as well as the applicant of record.

The proposed 58-foot-tall development will yield 85,995 square feet of community facilities space. The steel-based structure will also have a 30-foot-long rear yard.

Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the lot is vacant. It was the former site of Crotona Academy High School, a trailered alternative school shut down last year. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. Hello New York YIMBY: I miss you a lot of development reports, but in the next three months I travel a lot. I’m sorry for not having time to follow and read, the reason I traveled was because of my work. Including the time I was unable to delay.

  2. Scene: local, 50 years in neighborhood asked a question by intrepid real estate stenographer

Stenographer:”what neighborhood is this you live in?”

    Long (or short) time local:
    “Woodstock”
    Said no one ever
