The Taystee Lab Building recently topped out at 450 West 126th Street in the Manhattanville section of West Harlem. The 11-story structure comprises 350,000 square feet and will eventually contain a mix of Class A office space and state-of-the-art lab facilities. The Janus Property Group is responsible for development of the building, while LendLease served as construction manager. The design team includes architects LEVENBETTS and SLCE with BR+A Consulting Engineers.

Taystee Lab Building is the latest building to debut within the Manhattanville Factory District, a master-planned neighborhood comprising upward of one million square feet stretching from West 125th to West 128th Streets at Amsterdam Avenue. As a whole, the district is poised to revitalize and invigorate the surrounding streetscape with a vibrant mix of businesses and public space.

When fully complete, the new building will support a range of organizations including life sciences, technology, academia, non-profit, retail, and the arts. Specifics on which entities will occupy the property have not yet been revealed.

“As New York City’s life science industry grows, leveraging the abundance of highly educated STEM talent here, Janus is eager to continue to provide innovators with a place to thrive,” said Jerry Salama, a principal of The Janus Property Group.

The interiors of the property include flexible floor spans ranging from 36,000 square feet at the base to 15,000 square feet in the penthouse level. Each floor also includes 14-foot-high floor-to-ceiling windows.

Outdoor space includes numerous private terraces for the most premium suites and a landscaped courtyard with public access from 125th street.
