Permits have been filed for a seven-story mixed-use building at 571 Jackson Avenue in Woodstock, The Bronx. Located between East 149th Street and Pontiac Place, the lot is two blocks south of the Jackson Avenue subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. Shimshon Grunstein under the 550 Trinity LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 74-foot-tall development will yield 43,285 square feet, with 29,630 square feet designated for residential space, 2,185 square feet for commercial space, and 348 square feet for community facility space. The building will have 44 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 673 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar, a 30-foot-long rear yard, and 13 enclosed parking spaces.

Amr Ouda is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits were filed in May 2019. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

    If you went to that corner, not that you ever would, yet, and asked 1000 people where they lived not one would say “Woodstock, The Bronx”.
