Investmates’ Townhouse Trio Revealed at 74-76 South 2nd Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Over the past several years, Investmates and INOA Architecture have forged a fruitful partnership to construct a number of design-forward condominium properties in Williamsburg and Greenpoint, Brooklyn. One of their more recent projects, a trio of townhomes, arrives at 74-76 South 2nd Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn where construction has already kicked off.

The façade of the building, as depicted in artistic renderings, is particularly striking and draws clear inspiration from the curving, sinuous forms of Zaha Hadid’s 520 West 28th Street in Chelsea, Manhattan. Murat Mutlu, founder of INOA Architecture, worked with Hadid before her untimely passing in 2016, and has since graduated to the helm of his own design studio.

With respect to Mutlu’s unique vision, the structure introduces a form unlike any other residential project in Williamsburg, with rounded curtain wall panels surrounding floor-to-ceiling windows. Each home will span nearly 3,000 square feet, with private outdoor space both at the rear and the roof of the structure. While pricing has not been revealed, information provided by CityRealty suggests that each residence could fetch as high as $5 million.

The project is scheduled to be completed by this summer.

  1. I don’t need to complain a lot about your revealed, no annoying and no unreasonable way. Fill on its facade with beautiful in actions: Hello New York YIMBY.

  2. Outstanding

  3. It seems “design forward” is a new way to spin when something is really, truly ugly. The people who live in this carbuncle obviously won’t have to look at it much since they will presumably be inside, but I really do pity the people who live across the street from this thing that seems to have lost its way Fromm moonbase Alpha.

  4. Looks great and reminds me of a building on the highline in nyc.

  5. To succeed, the cladding will need to be meticulously fabricated especially if in concrete. Given the Hadid connection, perhaps INOA will opt for GFRC precast panels as utilized in the Hadid-designed One Thousand Museum in Miami, FL. It will be interesting to see how this great design pans out in terms of construction quality.

More so, how will all this whiteness weather over time? The grime in NYC’s air will coat the horizontal and chamfered surfaces and leave ugly streaks and blotches. Nice!

GORGEOUS. LOVE IT. Times are tough now but always remember there’s only one New York City.
