Permits have been filed for a five-story hotel building at 169 Empire Boulevard in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Located between Bedford Avenue and Rogers Avenue, the lot is two blocks west of the Sterling Street subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. Nehalkumar Gandhi under the Empire Prospect LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 60-foot-tall development will yield 34,595 square feet, with 23,974 square feet designated for commercial space. The building will have 86 rooms, with an average unit scope of 278 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar, sub-cellar, and a 40-foot-long rear yard.

Michael Kang Architect, P.C. is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits were filed in October 2019 for the one-story funeral home on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. Nice site. The site will house yuppy parents when they visit the area. Perhaps a hot sheet motel that will build equity.

    Much like many midtown far west and east hotels. Which are primarily for cheap tourist stays and extramarital encounters.

  2. Is that the site of the senior Citizens Daycare. I guess another displacement of black people. they are working on extinction..

    When the next episode of Covid19 hit or another pandemic it would be made difficult to trace those infected because they are transit. Thus, spreading the disease around the country and world. Crown Heights is very dense!!

  6. I don’t think it is the Senior Center. I think it was a funeral home.
