Permits have been filed for a four-story residential building at 659 East 222nd Street in Wakefield, The Bronx. Located between Carpenter Avenue and White Plains Road, the interior lot is three blocks south of the 225th Street subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. Ed Lekaj of Bond Construction is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 37-foot-tall development will yield 6,626 square feet, with 6,489 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have ten residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 649 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a 33-foot-long rear yard.

Demolition permits have not been filed yet for the garage on the property. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. The atmosphere that I saw was sending desire to development, therefore; developers have to consider, and approve the construction as soon as possible: Hello New York YIMBY.

  2. There’s another empty lot on 222nd street and Bronx Blvd across the street from the park which would be a massive development twice the size of any current space in the entire borough I’m wondering when a permit would be filed for this location. Probably be a nightmare to complete this project but well worth it with it’s size and return of it’s value.
