Permits have been filed for two four-story residential buildings at 862-864 East 34th Street in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. Located between Farragut Road and Glenwood Road, the adjacent interior lots are four blocks east of the Flatbush Avenue subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. Hagai Liando under the SSJL 862 East 34th Street LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 50-foot-tall development at 862 East 34th Street will yield 5,208 square feet, with 4,138 square feet designated for six residential units averaging 689 square feet apiece. The building at 864 East 34th Street will also rise 50 feet above ground, yielding 5,766 square feet with 4,584 square feet allotted to seven residences, with an average unit scope of 654 square feet. It is likely the masonry-based structures will be rentals in addition to having cellars and 35-foot-long rear yards.

Wu Woody Chen of Infocus is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits were filed in February of this year. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. Hello New York YIMBY: All done!

  2. These structures are destroying our neighborhoods. They are ugly and an eye sore. These developers are greedy and are coming into the minorities neighborhoods and destroying them.

  3. This is so sad. These are big, beautiful old homes that give the neighborhood character. Greedy developers destroy the beauty and make the surroundings ugly. All for the might dollar. Disgraceful.
