Permits have been filed for a seven-story mixed-use building at 1000 Woodycrest Avenue in Highbridge, The Bronx. Located at the intersection of West 164th Street and Woodycrest Avenue, the corner lot is closest to the 161 Street-Yankee Stadium subway station, serviced by the B, D, and 4 trains. Skyward Developers under the 1000 Woodycrest Realty LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 75-foot-tall development will yield 20,534 square feet, with 17,182 square feet designated for residential space and 1,844 square feet for community facility space. The building will have 25 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 687 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar and a 32-foot-long side yard but no accessory parking.

S&S Architectural Design is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits were filed in June of this year. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

I do not violate your report rights, so once I read it I must say: Thank you.

  2. Look at how elegantly that house negotiates the corner, and how it contributes to the streetscape. Pretty much guaranteed that nothing that replaces it will have that sort of consideration to the human scale and urban environment.

    • Yeah it is a shame how much they have ruined some Bronx neighborhoods. Not only is it a stately home but it is an ownership opportunity. Now up will go a building that doesn’t look as nice – and will most likely be rental. Thereby making the area less attractive and more transient. A city doesn’t have to be entirely buildings to be densely populated

  3. Aw, that’s a nice house

  4. Yikes, that property was purchased for a million dollars. With all that construction starting up, residence will be dealing with more rodents. One thing good is the property value is going up on this street.

    • Yes that stately lively corner house and others gave a nice suburban feel to Woodycrest Ave. Then overnight some developers has huge $$$ offers and a whole block of large private houses are sold -gone.

Highbridge area is prime real estate because of proximity Yankee ? Stadium.?
