One Bell Slip Closes in on Final Levels in North Brooklyn’s Greenpoint Landing

Construction is approaching topping out on One Bell Slip, a 368-foot-tall residential tower in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Brookfield Property Partners and Park Tower Group, the 31-story building will add 413 units to the 22-acre, ten-tower Greenpoint Landing riverfront development. The structure is rising just to the north of the completed 37 Blue Slip.

Photographs show the brick façade and windows climbing up the perimeter of the reinforced concrete superstructure. The massing incorporates a number of angular surfaces on the northern, eastern, and southern profiles, while the western elevation is mostly flat. The structure also features a couple setbacks, which can be seen just below the yellow safety cocoon. From a distance, it appears that construction has surpassed the roof height of 37 Blue Slip.

One Bell Slip will yield 379,803 square feet, of which 292,029 will be dedicated for residential space and 992 for commercial use. The overall Greenpoint Landing development will eventually create a whopping 5,500 residential units, with 1,400 designated for permanent affordable housing, as well as a park by James Corner Field Operations and a K-8 public school. The closest subway to the site is the G train, located a half mile away at Greenpoint Avenue.

A completion date for One Bell Slip has not been announced, though sometime in latter half of 2021 is possible.
