  21. New York city should be ashamed. They are making what they call “affordable apartments” yet the average New Yorker cannot afford. I was born and raised in New York, I work two jobs and I still cannot afford even a studio in a few of these buildings, It is indeed sad. Look at the number of units that are left over it should tell you a lot lol (34-86 units still empty).
I assure you that even though these apartments say affordable they are not for the people of New York City, I am convinced that our city is trying to push out people in poverty. I’m aware that they do have a few units in buildings available as low as $300-$800, yet It feels as if the odds are against us.

  22. I know a 70 year old who is in a hotel right now been in the system of homeless ness for twelve years . Never been awarded section 8 housing . Or any permanent housing voctured in and out of the system by accident. They to this day have spent 1000000 dollars on her in and out of the system. This is elderly abuse .

  23. What is “affordable” about these apartments?

  47. People with extremely low incomes you should apply for units in your income range. They have bldgs for extremely low incomes $20,000 a yr and under but you must look for them on housing connect website. Brooklyn has a ton of bldgs they are developing for very low income ranges.
