Exterior work is nearing completion on 37 Sixth Avenue, a 26-story residential building in Prospect HeightsBrooklyn. Alternately addressed as 495 Dean Street and 664 Pacific Street, the 343,788-square-foot structure is designed by Marvel Architects and The Brodsky Organization and will add 323 rental units to the Pacific Park complex. The rectangular property is located between Dean Street and Pacific Street.

Recent photos show the progress on the hand-laid brick masonry walls since our last update in November. The lighter-colored brick has reached the flat roof parapet, while work is wrapping up on the darker bricks that enclose the lower stories of the building.

37 Sixth Avenue sits behind and to the east of Barclays Center and diagonally across the street from the 532-foot-tall 18 Sixth Avenue, another residential project currently underway in the Brooklyn neighborhood. Large square and rectangular windows are spread in a dense array across the four elevations and are fitted with dark mullions.

37 Sixth Avenue will contain a 616-seat, 69,858-square-foot public middle school on the first five floors and two floors below street level, along with residential amenities including a gym, indoor and outdoor residential lounges, and a children’s playroom. The nearest subways are the 2, 3, 4, 5, N, Q, and R trains at the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center station, and the Long Island Railroad are also located nearby at Atlantic Terminal to the northwest by the intersection of Flatbush Avenue and Atlantic Avenue.

37 Sixth Avenue is slated to be finished in the fourth quarter of 2021, as noted on the construction fence.

  1. Ah, another “luxury” building with PTACs

  2. I really like 37 Sixth Avenue. The brickwork is quite nice and it’s also a very nice departure from the other Pacific Park highrises, which typically are just simple fat glass boxes.

  3. Why not build affordable condominiums or coops? I am so called middle class and cannot find a truly affordable place to rent or to purchase.I am at a crossroads
