  1. What category the people who do not have a decent income or Social Security fall into all I see is for those who make big money.Shameful.There still will be Homeless people walking on the
Streets.Give me an answer on this one.

    • If you want an answer try making sense with your question.

      • How dare you insult someone inquiring about terms of you income requirements? Your ignorance and greed will bite you in the a**. Let’s hope it’s sooner than later.

Don’t let these thirsty landlords make you believe that what is being offered here is a great opportunity. If you make anywhere near what is being asked for, do yourself a favor and move out of NY. Your money will stretch so much further. So many more amenities offered outside of NYC it’s unbelievable.

I moved out of Co-op City and never looked back. What they’re offering here is laughable in comparison to what you can get elsewhere. Trust me.

    • Why don’t you get the homeless in your house if you are this concerned? We as NYC residents already pay a lot in taxes. Do you know that NYC mayor pays $120 /NIGHT to the hotels for one single adult homeless. How can you finish homelessness if you give them even better benefits than what the hard working class citizens get? You only invite OTHER homeless people from other cities and this is the case in NYC! NYC spend $3.2 BILLION from our taxes to take care of the homeless EVERY YEAR.

  3. Are these low income housing.

    • They are not. 130 percent AMI. Enough panhandling! You get all the benefits. Why don’t you get a job and pay for your own rent instead of going out to brunches, drinking Moët Chandon, spending thousands on fireworks, buying expensive brand name clothes. You all get the same money with government help and still crying for affordable housing. We are in NYC. If you find the rents too high, why don’t you move out then? There is freedom of movement. We r in the US after all.

    • The income brackets are in the article.

  4. Keep voting for the Democratic Party and this is what u get Como & de Blasio they should be run out of town

  5. What about low income they do still need a place. Give them a foot in the door like.me I live in nycha. I would like to live in someplace like that less people noise which is unbearable to stay. My income ella. Give a family a chance to enjoy what was giving to.you

    • Move to the suburbs of Jersey. We all pay a lot of money to live in NYC. Why would you feel so entitled to get to live here for close to nothing?

      • Stop calling it affordable housing when it’s not job’s are scared right now how dare u think people can afford this on 15$ to even 20$ min wage close minded people

This is Harlem…it amazes me when new folks move into our neighborhoods and have the audacity to say why don’t you move out….. meditate on that for a moment(this is not affordable housing)

    • This is NY! Yes, why don’t you live out if you can’t pay for it? That’s what everybody does. Why would you feel entitled to free housing? Haven’t you gotten enough free stuff already?

Its truly sad to see folks coming at each other over lower income housing we ALL deserve a nice place to call home but the people with the money are calling the shots. I agree we need that foot in the door ASAP! I pay my TAXES and work mu butt off for me & minesas well and still can’t apply for developments in my community it’s a HURTFUL FEELING & SLAPP IN THE FACE it does not make sense at all WE IS THE REAL LOW INCOME HOUSING?? ITS A PANDEMIC NO ONE IS MAKING THAT KIND OF INCOME AT THIS TIME BUT YET ITS REAL NICE “LOW INCOME HOUSING ” YEA RITE PEOPLE NEEDS ANSWERS REAL ONE TOO. THANK YOU! BEEN APPLYING FOR 3yrs now and nothing SOMETHING HAS TO CHANGE for children’s Sake.

    • The federal government needs to get back in the housing business on the scale they were until republicans took over in the 1980s. Call your senator if you want things to change.

I’d like to apply for a n apartment. Please accept. Thank you.

  18. People living in Harlem work too and we’ve kept the neighborhood affordable and interesting until greedy developers come along and tell us to get out instead of them staying out. What the hell is Cuomo and de Blasio doing?

    • What do you mean by “kept the neighborhood intetesting”? That could be interpreted a few different ways and more than one of them not very good.

    • So you dont want developers to invest in your neighborhood? Got it. You know you’re on a site called “YES In My Back Yard” ?

  19. Can someone who used live 8n nyc but move out newyork can you still apply

How can I apply, im in desperate need of a apartment

  21. This building advertises was built on a small lot and it’s so small you couldn’t have a comfortable lifestyle in there anyway, I live just a few steps away, these buildings are private owned and it’s not for our community, it’s manly for people who don’t understand the reality market, it’s a set up !!!

    • So any private development that you deem “not for our community” shouldn’t be allowed to exist?

I would recommend you familiarize yourself with the free market.

  25. First off, some of the comments are ridiculas and judgemental. There are thousands of people who were making six figures and because of the pandimic they are stuck at home still trying to find work while striving for their families. I am close to six figures and my partner makes over six figures we own a 1.8 million dollar home in NY and own property in ATL. With that to say, people are being tested financially so those of us who has the privilege of stability financially should be greatful and understanding because it could one day be you. Some people can not just get up and get a great job or Marry a rich man or woman. Asking questions regarding life experiences is one thing but judging is another, grow TFU and understand reality not just your own.

  26. And they call this affordable? What about the people who are making half of the margin income that has children and in need of suitable housing for their family? New York City and the government needs to really look and learn the meaning of AFFORDABLE! This is supposed to be affordable to who? Not the single mother of 3 working 2 jobs just to stay above water.

  27. Please I need a one bedroom or studio apartment I have a Cityfep vouchers and also have a 2010E voucher I also get SSI please help me get out of the shelter and
