YIMBY has an exclusive set of new renderings and photos that depict Eastlight, a 34-story, 388-foot-tall condominium building at 200 East 34th Street in Kips Bay. Designed by CetraRuddy Architecture and developed by 200 East 34th LLC, who is listed as the owner on permits, the 135,094-square-foot project will yield 144 units and 2,992 square feet of commercial space. The site is located at the corner of Third Avenue and East 34th Street and is alternately addressed 501 Third Avenue. Noble Construction Group is in charge of building the tower, and the teaser site has also launched.

Construction was last seen approaching its pinnacle.

Curtain wall installation on the podium is also well underway. Below shows one of the setbacks that will feature an outdoor terrace.

Residents will enter through the main lobby, lined with black marble on the floor, white marble for the front desk, and neutral toned walls leading to the elevators.

The exterior features white paneling between the reflective floor-to-ceiling glass, a significant departure from the dark-colored curtain wall showcased in the renderings and elevations last seen on YIMBY. It seems like the arrangement, spacing, and materials of choice for the envelope have been largely retained, with the only change being the color palette.

The wooden railings covered with orange netting, metal scaffolding, and supports framing the newly poured floor slabs at the upper stories were also last spotted. The upper box-shaped massing of floors atop the final setback is the last portion of the building that will likely house the mechanical levels and equipment and cap the edifice with a flat roof parapet.

YIMBY previously stated that 200 East 34th Street will feature a cellar and 132,102 square feet of residential space divided among the 144 units. Homes are expected to range from studios to three-bedroom layouts, and will be condominiums with an average size of around 917 square feet apiece. The planned fitness center, lounge, and dining room will all sit on the 34th floor and provide residents with prime views looking at the Midtown skyline and the East River. Also on this floor will be a private training studio, a game room, and a rooftop terrace with a dining and barbecue setup.

“Eastlight is a prime example of the eye-catching new construction that has transitioned Kips Bay into an increasingly dynamic residential area,” said Tricia Hayes Cole, executive managing director of Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group.

No formal completion date has been announced, but we predict work on Eastlight to be done sometime in early 2022.
