Leasing is now underway for Plank Road, a 27-story residential building at 662 Pacific Street in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. Designed by Marvel Architects and developed by The Brodsky Organization, the structure yields 312 rental units that range from studios to two-bedroom accommodations.

Plank Road is the fifth building to reach completion within Pacific Park, a 22-acre redevelopment zone that will include approximately 6 million square feet of residential area or upward of 6,400 apartments. Other properties within Pacific Park include Barclays Center, 461 Dean Street, 535 Carlton Avenue, and 550 Vanderbilt Avenue among other high-profile developments.

Eventually the master plan is expected to yield 47,000 square feet of retail space, 336,000 square feet of office space, and eight acres of publicly accessible open area.

“We are excited to be a part of Pacific Park’s growth with our latest building, bringing new mixed-income housing and a public school to Prospect Heights,” said The Brodsky Organization principal Alexander Brodsky.

Plank Road’s architects drew inspiration from the many brownstones that characterize the Prospect Heights area. With this in mind, the lower levels of the building are enclosed in dark gray brick, which creates a modest transition away from the traditional neighboring masonry buildings.

Above the fifth floor, the building sets back from the street front elevation, then again above the 18th floor. At these levels, the façade is constructed of sandy-hued brick and a more traditional window system compared to the asymmetrical openings below the fifth floor.

Residents will have access to additional outdoor space at the roof, which includes a pool, grilling stations, lounge areas, and tables for dining. Indoor amenities include a fitness center, onsite bike rentals and storage, a communal lounge, a children’s playroom, a laundry room, and access to a 24/7 concierge.

The first move-ins are expected this fall.

    I’m just not seeing it…

    • You’re not seeing it because the color of the brick, the massive detailing of the base and the cut outs for the windows have nothing to do with the many brownstones that characterize ……..words have meaning, Marvel Architects!

  2. ANOTHER BUILDING THAT WAS BUILT USING EMINENT DOMAIN. NY STATE KICKED OUT THE LONGTIME FACTORY OWNER THAT USED TO RESIDE AT 666 PACIFIC ST. IT WAS A CENTURY OLD FAMILY RUN BUSINESS THAT WAS FORCED TO CLOSE AFTER THEY REFUSED TO SELL TO THE DEVELOPER. SO INSTEAD NY STATE USED EMINENT DOMAIN WHICH IS SUPPOSED TO BE USED FOR THE PUBLIC GOOD LIKE SCHOOLS, HOSPITAL, JAILS ETC
NOT TO MAKE MONEY FOR ANOTHER DEVELOPER.
    OUR CORRUPT SYSTEM

    • your cap lock is on again

    • They tried to reason with those owners using the free market. Sometimes eminent domain is the only tool left to deal with stubborn mules standing in the way of progress.

Would you still be defending the owners had they been preventing the expansion of the LIRR yard?

      • eminent domain is supposed to be used for the public good! Not to take private property by the state and give to a huge developer like Ratner who sold to a russian oligarch Prokorov who then sold at a huge billion dollar profit to the Chinese government controlled Greenland Holdings!
So basically NY State used eminent domain so the Chinese Communist government could make a huge profit!
        Wow try and defend that

      • They weren’t expanding the LIRR rail yard . They were handing a sweetheart deal to Ratner who under bid the community driven Extell plan which didn’t use eminent domain for the rights to the project by 100 million. So what did the corrupt NY State controlled MTA do? They renegotiated the deal and Ratner only ponied up another 50 million, still less than Extell
the offers that NY State made to the property owners was below market prices BTW

      • NO RESPONSE OF COURSE BECAUSE YOU CANT DEFEND THE OUR TAXPAYER DOLLARS GOING TO THE CHINESE COMMUNIST GOVERNMENT

  3. Wow, great more high price rentals, and the delay for the so called AFFORDABLE HOUSING UNITS, will probably also be high priced, these Democrats politicians, are only looking out for their own preferences, but they want your vote, nyc officially unaffordable place to live, if your lowincome, we to pay taxes
