YIMBY went to check out the views from the 44th floor of the 475-foot-tall 52-41 Center Boulevard, the shorter building in ODA Architects‘ two-tower complex in Hunters PointQueens. Its sibling is the 587-foot-tall 52-03 Center Boulevard to the north. Both edifices rise along the East River waterfront on a parcel bound by Center Boulevard to the west, Borden Avenue to the north, 2nd Street to the east, and 54th Avenue to the south. SLCE Architects served as the architect of record for the 46- and 56-story mixed-use towers that are part of TF Cornerstone‘s Hunters Point South development.

Looking west over the East River provides panoramic views of the Midtown, Manhattan skyline stretching from the Empire State Building on 34th Street to One Vanderbilt and the Chrysler Building on 42nd Street, to the slender residential supertalls on 57th Street, aka Billionaires’ Row. These vistas extend south toward Lower Manhattan, Greenpoint, Brooklyn and to the east toward the cluster of glass residential skyscraper in the downtown area of Long Island City, Queens. Sunrises and sunsets are uninterrupted with prime 360-degree views and abundant natural light exposure all day and year round.

TF Cornerstone’s mega-project will also provide an additional 8,000 square feet dedicated to community use with a separate lobby space, 8,900 square feet of ground-floor retail space, a 7,950-square-foot daycare facility, and a 572-seat K-8 grade school in a separate building. Residential amenities include a doorman, gym with yoga studio, a co-working space, recreation room, party room, children’s playroom, bike storage lockers, and a rooftop terrace with grills and a sundeck. Each home will include name-brand appliances and finishes, air conditioning, and dishwashers. The habitable living space will measure 374,100 square feet while the total project will span 855,541 square feet. The two towers will be surrounded by a 22,000-square-foot park designed by MNLA.

YIMBY last reported that full completion of the whole site is expected by winter 2022.
