The affordable housing lottery has launched for Gotham Point South Tower, a 33-story residential building at 57-28 2nd Street in Long Island City’s Hunters Point South. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Gotham Organization and Riseboro Community Partnership, the 335,000-square-foot structure contains 452 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 270 units for residents at 30 to 165 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $15,806 to $244,200.

Amenities include a dog washing station, electric car charging stations, shared laundry room, common area Wi-Fi, gym, yoga/dance studio, recreation room, business center, children’s playroom, senior center, doorman and on-site resident manager, concierge, and numerous terraces and green spaces. Residences come equipped with plank flooring, Silestone quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, air conditioning, a gas range, and dishwasher.

At 50 percent of the AMI, there are 44 units with a monthly rent ranging from $738 to $1,274 for incomes ranging from $27,498 to $74,000. At 80 percent of the AMI, there are 22 units with a monthly rent ranging from $1,250 to $2,161 for incomes ranging from $45,052 to $118,400. At 125 percent of the AMI, there are 89 units with a monthly rent ranging from $1,643 to $2,841 for incomes ranging from $58,526 to $185,000. At 165 percent of the AMI, there are 110 units with a monthly rent ranging from $2,070 to $3,580 for incomes ranging from $73,166 to $244,200.

  7. This is a farce, 5 apartments for low income senior citizens and 200 apartments for upper middle and upper class income earners who can find housing without the governments help.
