Permits have been filed for a five-story residential building at 308 14th Street in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Located between 5th and 6th Avenues, the lot is near the Prospect Avenue subway station, serviced by the R train. Nechemia Weinberger of Soft Stone Development is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 46-foot-tall development will yield 14,746 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have ten residences, most likely condos based on the average unit scope of 1,474 square feet. The steel-based structure will also have a cellar and a 30-foot-long rear yard.

Rise Architecture is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the lot is vacant. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. The gentrification of the neighboring homes in streetview really shows how the demand for this neighborhood has grown since 2014. This neighborhood will needs a lot more small 10-unit infill buildings scattered across it if it wants any hope of saving its last few affordable homes from the wave of gentrifying change.

  2. They are taking away what park slope is about. Brownstones and quiet little blocks. Now we ha tall busy buildings that are taking away our sunlight. Screw gentrification. All that happened is the people who lived there was kicked out because they could no longer afford to live there.

This is in response to Michelle’s post.I am the son of the person that lived there before and my mom was never kicked out because the house was paid off in full.We lived there many year’s and sold the house for awesome profit. So please before you make a comment like that,get the facts straight.

  4. looks like the entire project has been withdrawn from the DOB early 2022. Hopefully DOB finally put their foot down against allowing the developer to build a building that literally splits the block down the middle
