Construction is complete on The Riverview, a ten-story condominium building at 219 Hudson Street in Hudson Square. Designed by Rawlings Architects and developed by Joel Braver, the property will yield 14 units, ground-floor retail space, and a community facility at the intersection of Hudson and Canal Streets, just to the west of the entrance to the Holland Tunnel.

Photographs taken from across Canal Street show the curved exterior and window grid surrounded by gray rectangular panels. The sidewalk barriers and fencing have all been removed since our last update in September, and the sidewalks have been cleared of all equipment.

The Riverview features eight units with private outdoor terraces, and all homes come with 11-foot ceiling spans, hardwood flooring, kitchens and bathrooms with honed marble countertops, Miele appliances, and in-unit washers and dryers. Residents will have views of the Lower Manhattan skyline to the south, the Hudson River to the west, Soho and Chinatown further to the east, and the ongoing vertical transformation of Hudson Square to the north. Homes at The Riverview average around 1,500 square feet apiece and amenities include virtual doorman service, a fitness center, a lounge, bicycle storage, and general storage.

As of late January, the most affordable available home is a 1,110-square-foot, two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit for $2,895,000. The most expensive is a penthouse on the eighth floor spanning 2,011 square feet with a 475-square-foot outdoor terrace, three bedrooms, and 3.5 bathrooms for $5,995,000. The closest subways are the 1, A, C, and E trains at the two Canal Street stations to the east between Varick Street and Sixth Avenue.

  1. Very nine, & unusual. Respects it’s site.

  2. The curve is very unique. I like it.

The recessed tallest part, in the 3rd & 4th rendering, should have been the same dark color as the ground floor.

  4. Its pretty hideous and in a location that is beyond horrible. Other than that is great.
