Renderings from architect Blackberry Studios are the first to reveal The Legacy, a five-story residential building at 751 Vose Avenue in Orange, New Jersey. The developer of the project is former professional football player Kimble Wright who envisions the project as a means to give back to his community.

The building will comprise 51 rental units. Available floorplans will include one- and two-bedroom homes, all equipped with hardwood flooring, stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, and in-unit washer and dryers.

Tenants will also have access to a communal lounge, a fitness center, a rooftop terrace, and on-site parking with designated spots for ZipCar vehicles.

In 2020, Lee & Associates provided a $12.5 million construction loan to facilitate completion of the building. Avison Young will serve as general contractor.

“When Kimble engaged Avison Young, he had already gone through the extensive approvals process and was ready to start building,” said director of construction management Tony Bienert. “We partnered very closely with him and his owner’s rep team, Mills Management LLC, to identify the best strategies to successfully maximize potential areas for savings in both time and costs.”

Construction is expected to last 12 months, with full completion in fall 2023.

  1. Oh my.

Looks like the ultra cheap design of those college town student housing buildings that you see everywhere. Will there be a Noodles on the ground floor?

  2. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an array of electric meters shown in a rendering before. I give the architects extra points for honesty. That said, let’s hope the finished building looks better than the rendering.

  3. it looks so cheap and without any architecture reflection of the city. but then again we see nice looking buildings on paper and when its completed its nothing looking like the design eg the building at 125 South Harrison street in East orange, when completed looks nothing like the drawing proposal… so give them credit for honesty

  4. Hi,Dears Management: my name is Naby Toure, I need 3 bedrooms apartment. Thank you.
