Office development is a rarity across most neighborhoods in New York City, including Chinatown. But sometimes it still happens, and today, YIMBY has a comprehensive look at the updated design for 100 East Broadway, which also sits next to Pike and Division Streets. YIMBY posted an early design for the site back in 2015, but since then, changes have been substantial.
The shell of a gas station at 100 East Broadway has sat empty for six years near the entrance to the Manhattan Bridge in Chinatown. Now a 14-story office and medical building will rise on the block-long corner lot between the bridge, Division Street, Pike Street and East Broadway.
The LI Herald reports developer iStar FM Loans LLC is finalizing deals with City Council for their planned two-building, 15-story mixed-use development spanning the vacant parcel 100-198 East Broadway, on Long Beach’s waterfront. Retail space will measure 11,000 square feet, and 522 residential units were approved for. Construction is expected to begin once tax abatements have been approved by the Nassau County Industrial Development Agency.
