Installation of the dark-colored curtain wall panels has begun at Rose Hill, aka 30 East 29th Street, in NoMad. The Art Deco-inspired envelope now covers the podium and first residential floors of the future 45-story skyscraper, which is located between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue South. Designed by CetraRuddy Architecture and developed by Rockefeller Group, the tower will stand 639 feet tall and become one of the most prominent structures in the neighborhood. Art Deco-Inspired Rose Hill Begins Ascent at 30 East 29th Street in NoMad

Construction on 30 East 29th Street, aka Rose Hill, is moving along quickly in NoMad. Work on the foundations wrapped up in January and now the upcoming 639-foot-tall structure is several floors above street level. The upcoming 49-story project is located between Park Avenue South and Madison Avenue and is being designed by CetraRuddy Architecture and developed by the Rockefeller Group. The residential high-rise will incorporate an Art Deco-inspired design, setting it apart from other neighboring towers rising in the development boom, responsible for changing the skyline south of the Empire State Building.

Currently under construction is 30 East 29th Street, located in the heart of NoMad amongst a fever-pitch pace of condominiums and hotels sprouting up in the neighborhood. Designed by CetraRuddy Architecture, the project is being developed by the acclaimed Rockefeller Group. A teaser website has been released and new Art Deco-inspired renderings are also being unveiled for the first time. The building is also getting a new name for itself, called “Rose Hill.”

YIMBY’s 2018 Mid-Year Pipeline Report Shows Surge In New Development Filings With YTD Unit Count Increasing 67.5% Over 2017

While YIMBY normally covers aggregate new building applications on an annual basis, this year, we have released our first mid-year pipeline report, and the results are surprisingly positive. After two years of declining applications following the frenzies of 2014 and 2015, the preliminary numbers for 2018 appear to be signaling a major uptick in activity. Year-over-year filings of new residential units have grown substantially, rising from 9,134 in the first six months of 2017, to 15,305 in 2018 — an increase of 67.5%.
