New Rendering Of 16-Story, 380,000-Square-Foot Office Conversion at Domino Sugar Refinery, Williamsburg

Over the past few years, new building applications have been filed and construction even started on a residential portion of the five-tower, 3.3-million-square-foot mixed-use Domino Sugar Refinery mega-development in Williamsburg, located immediately north of the Williamsburg Bridge. Now, new details and renderings have been revealed of the lesser-known office component of the project, the New York Post reported. The office portion will be anchored in the existing 11-story Havemeyers & Elder Filter, Pan & Finishing House, also known as the Domino Sugar Refinery, at 292-314 Kent Avenue, which is an individual landmark.

Partial Reveal of Six-Story, 33-Unit Mixed-Use Project at 509 Pacific Street, Boerum Hill

Back in August of 2015, YIMBY reported on applications for the six-story, 29-unit mixed-use building at 509 Pacific Street, in Boerum Hill. Now, Curbed NY has updated details on the project, as well as the first partial renderings revealing the structure’s exterior. The 114,812-square-foot building, dubbed the Hendrik, will actually feature 33 residential units, averaging 1,680 square feet apiece. The apartments will be condominiums, ranging from two- to four-bedroom configurations. Per the Schedule A, amenities will include a fitness center and a 12,725-square-foot parking garage in the sub-cellar. There will also be 16,293 square feet of retail space across the ground and cellar levels. Hope Street Capital and AEW Capital Management are the developers, with Beyer Blinder Belle behind the design. The site’s old Walgreens store was demolished in 2015 and completion of the new structure is expected in 2017.

Mixed Rulings for Conversion of 346 Broadway, TriBeCa

It was back in December of 2014 that the Landmarks Preservation Commission approved (on its second attempt) the residential conversion of the former New York Life Insurance Company Building, later a city office building, at 346 Broadway, in TriBeCa. However, in just the past two weeks, two rulings have come down that will impact the plan from developers Peebles Corporation and Elad Group, being marketed using the alternate address 108 Leonard Street.

30-Story, 83-Unit Condominium Tower Rises Above Grade At 200 East 95th Street, Upper East Side

Back in October of 2015, foundation work was underway at Extell Development’s 30-story, 83-unit mixed-use building at 200 East 95th Street (a.k.a. 1681 Third Avenue), on the Upper East Side. YIMBY now has photos from Tectonic that show rebar rising from the construction site into the air. Work on the ground floor is currently underway on the 317,664-square-foot building, dubbed The Kent, which will include 13,225 square feet of retail space across the ground and cellar levels. There will be 83 condominium units, ranging from two- to five-bedrooms, in the 367-foot-tall tower. The residences should average over 3,000 square feet apiece, and amenities listed in the Schedule A include a gym, a pool & sauna, bike storage, residential lounges and playrooms, a “music room,” and an outdoor terrace on the second floor. Beyer Blinder Belle is designing the project. Completion is expected in 2017.
