Essex Crossing’s 15-Story, 211-Unit Mixed-Use Building Rises at 145 Clinton Street, Lower East Side

The 15-story, 211-unit mixed-use building under development at 145 Clinton Street, located on the corner of Grand Street on the Lower East Side, is now three stories above street level, as seen in photos shot by Tectonic. The latest building permits indicate the project – which is one piece of the mixed-use mega-development known as Essex Crossing – will encompass 283,178 square feet. There will be 73,000 square feet of commercial-retail space across the cellar through second floors. Planet Fitness has already pre-leased 22,000 square feet on the second floor, and a food market is expected to take 30,000 square feet on the ground floor.

Foundation Work Underway At Seven-Story, 160-Unit Mixed-Use Project At 500 & 524 East 14th Street, East Village

Foundation work is well underway at the site of Extell Development’s seven-story, 160-unit mixed-use development at 500 East 14th Street and 524 East 14th Street, in the East Village. Rebar can now be seen sprouting from the ground, as seen in photos in a EV Grieve update. Once complete, a seven-story, 106-unit building, encompassing 181,713 square feet, will be situated on the corner of Avenue A. A seven-story, 54-unit mixed-use building, measuring 71,719 square feet, will stand down the street at 524 East 14th Street. Across both, there will be 45,407 square feet of commercial-retail space on the ground and cellar levels. The apartments above should average 1,215 square feet apiece, which suggests condominiums are in the works.

30-Story, 83-Unit Mixed-Use Condo Tower Rises to Fourth Floor at 200 East 95th Street, Upper East Side

YIMBY last brought you an update on the 30-story, 83-unit mixed-use building under development at 200 East 95th Street, at the corner of Third Avenue on the Upper East Side, when rebar was rising from the foundation in March. Now, the structure is four stories above street level and quickly rising, as seen in a photo by Tectonic via the YIMBY Forums. The 317,664-square-foot tower, dubbed The Kent, will eventually stand 367 feet above street level. It will feature 13,225 square feet of retail space on the ground and cellar levels. The apartments, which will be condominiums ranging from two- to five-bedrooms, should average roughly 3,000 square feet apiece. A list of residential amenities can be found in our last report. Extell Development is the developer, while Beyer Blinder Belle is behind the design. Completion is expected sometime in 2017.

Reveal for Six-Story, 33-Unit Mixed-Use Condo Project at 509 Pacific Street, Boerum Hill

Back in April, the first partial renderings were revealed of the six-story, 33-unit mixed-use building planned at 509 Pacific Street, in Boerum Hill, located within two blocks of stops of on the 2, 3, 4, 5, B, D, N, Q, and R trains and Atlantic Terminal. Now, the first full rendering of the building, dubbed the Hendrik, has been revealed by the New York Times. The latest permits indicate the project will encompass 114,812 square feet. The ground and cellar levels will feature 26,000 square feet of retail, and the residential units above should average 1,680 square feet apiece. The apartments will be condominiums ranging from two- to four-bedrooms, with the smallest units measuring 1,200 square feet and the largest clocking in at 2,500 square feet. Nineteen of the condos will have outdoor terraces. Amenities will include a fitness center, a children’s playroom, a library, a lounge, a pet spa, bike and stroller storage, an underground parking garage, a rooftop terrace, and a central courtyard. Hopestreet is the developer, while Beyer Blinder Belle is the architect. Foundation work is reportedly underway, with completion scheduled for late 2017.

New Rendering Of 16-Story, 380,000-Square-Foot Office Conversion at Domino Sugar Refinery, Williamsburg

Over the past few years, new building applications have been filed and construction even started on a residential portion of the five-tower, 3.3-million-square-foot mixed-use Domino Sugar Refinery mega-development in Williamsburg, located immediately north of the Williamsburg Bridge. Now, new details and renderings have been revealed of the lesser-known office component of the project, the New York Post reported. The office portion will be anchored in the existing 11-story Havemeyers & Elder Filter, Pan & Finishing House, also known as the Domino Sugar Refinery, at 292-314 Kent Avenue, which is an individual landmark.
