Once again, we’re counting down the final days of the year with a list of the 31 tallest skyscrapers under construction across the New York metropolitan region. The first project on the list is 3 West 29th Street, a 551-foot-tall, 34-story office tower in NoMad. Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group for HFZ Capital Group and formerly known as 29th & 5th, the project will bring nearly 300,000 square feet of newly built space to the expanding neighborhood. The site is located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, almost directly in line with the Empire State Building. Pavarini McGovern, LLC is the general contractor for the development.

YIMBY’s Turkey Week update of stalled projects continues with The XI, a twisting pair of 26- and 36-story residential structures at 76 Eleventh Avenue in Chelsea. Designed by Danish architect Bjarke Ingels of Bjarke Ingels Group and developed by HFZ Capital Group, façade installation work appears to be on hold for the moment at the site, which is located on the western side of the High Line. Among the tallest buildings to rise along the Hudson River, the 908,250-square-foot two-tower design will yield 236 condominiums and a 137-room Six Senses Hotel Resort Spa, the brand’s first location in the United States. YIMBY last reported that Omnibuild is in charge of the construction and Douglas Elliman is handling sales and marketing.
The Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) will soon consider proposals from Bjarke Ingels Group to construct a large rooftop pavilion and terrace at 130 Prince Street in Soho. Located at the corner of Prince and Wooster Streets, the mixed-use commercial property will support a mix of retail and office space.
Excavation and piling work is progressing at 3 West 29th Street in NoMad, site of a 34-story office skyscraper from Bjarke Ingels Group. Developed by HFZ Capital Group, the tower will stand 551 feet tall, making it one of the tallest structures in Midtown south of the Empire State Building. The project, which was formerly known as 29th & 5th, is located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues and will yield nearly 300,000 square feet. Pavarini McGovern, LLC is the general contractor for the development.

Designed by Danish architect Bjarke Ingels of Bjarke Ingels Group and developed by HFZ Capital Group, the massive 908,250-square-foot complex stands along the Hudson River waterfront and sits on the western side of the High Line. The mixed-use property will yield 236 condominiums and a 137-room Six Senses Hotel Resort Spa, which will be the first location in the United States. Omnibuild is in charge of the construction and Douglas Elliman is handling sales and marketing.
