New development in Brooklyn Heights is rarely as-of-right, and this morning’s reveal is no exception. YIMBY has the first look at renderings of a vertical expansion proposed for 135 Montague Street, designed by Marin Architects, which will go before the Landmarks Preservation Commission for review later today.
Recent new development in Downtown Brooklyn has been on a historic scale, having been ranked among the most significant growth spurts for a single neighborhood in the city’s history. Plans to build a 29-story residential tower at 550 Clinton Avenue in Clinton Hill will spread the boom slightly further out. YIMBY reported on the design in January of this year when it was first proposed to the Landmark Preservation Commission (LPC). After receiving feedback, its architect Morris Adjmi is returning to the LPC with what may be the final design.
Permits have been pre-filed for a 16-story mid-rise as part of a larger mega-development at 2926 West 19th Street, Coney Island, Brooklyn, which YIMBY first revealed back in January. The site is five blocks away from the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue subway station, serviced by the D, F, N, and Q trains, and right across the street from a multi-purpose baseball ballpark.
Permits have been filed for a four-story residential building at 99 Conselyea Street, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The site is three blocks away from the Graham Avenue subway station, serviced by the L train, and four blocks away from the Metropolitan Avenue station, serviced by the L and G trains. Cleopatra Realty LLC will be responsible for the development.
Williamsburg is an incredible tapestry of diverse architectural styles. One of the most prominent examples of its historic past is the Dime Savings Bank of Williamsburgh, located right by the first exit of the Williamsburg Bridge into Brooklyn, which ensures that hundreds of thousands of people see it every day. The building is about to be reborn thanks to Charney Construction and Development and Tavros Capital Partners, with a full restoration and refurbishment planned for the Bank, adjacent to which a new 22-story residential tower will also rise.
