Morris Adjmi-Designed Residential Tower Coming to 550 Clinton Avenue in Brooklyn’s Clinton Hill

The Downtown Brooklyn residential boom has ranked among the most impressive growth spurts any neighborhood has seen in the history of the Five Boroughs, and now, plans have been submitted to the Landmarks Preservation Commission at the periphery of the boom, in Clinton Hill. There, at 550 Clinton Avenue, Morris Adjmi Architects is designing a new 29-story residential tower, which went before the LPC for review yesterday.

Rendering Revealed for 1702 Newkirk Avenue, Flatbush, Brooklyn

A rendering has been revealed for the six-story residential building set to rise at 1702 Newkirk Avenue, in Southern Flatbush, Brooklyn. The concrete design showcases a small amount of landscaping along the outside of the entrance, and eight balconies, with two on each floor after the third. Bizdesigns is responsible for the architecture.

Permits Filed for 85, 87 Herkimer Street, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn

Permits have been filed for two conjoined four-story residential buildings at 85 and 87 Herkimer Street, in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. The sites are two blocks away from the Fulton Street and Nostrand intersection, co-located with the Nostrand Avenue Subway Station, serviced by the A and C trains. An anonymous LLC is listed as responsible for development.

Rendering Revealed for 62-66 North Third Street, Williamsburg, Brooklyn

A new rendering is out for 62 and 66 North Third Street, two six-story mixed-use buildings in Brooklyn’s flourishing Williamsburg neighborhood. The nearest subway access is the L train’s first stop in Brooklyn, the Bedford Station. The site is just a block away from the river, five blocks south of the State of New York East River Park, and five blocks north of the Domino Sugar Factory development, where a ferry station may soon be built. David Dweck, Steven Ancona, and Michael Marino have joined together for the development.

Six blocks away is the Fort Hamilton Parkway, serviced by the F and G trains. Bobby Dweck of JEMB Realty will be responsible for the design.

The site is just two blocks away from the Union Street Subway Station, serviced by the D and R trains. The Whole Foods Market right on the Gowanus Canal is also nine blocks away. Vanguard Investors will be responsible for the development.

Permits Filed for High-Rise at 61 DeKalb Avenue, Downtown Brooklyn

A new high-rise could be coming right next to the future supertall at 9 DeKalb Avenue. Permits have been filed for a 34-story residential building and parking garage at 61 DeKalb Avenue, on Long Island University’s campus in Downtown Brooklyn. The site is just a handful of blocks away from the A, B, C, D, G, Q, R, 2 3, 4, and 5 train, giving it near-immediate access to the rest of the city. Also in the neighborhood is NYU’s growing Brooklyn campus. LIU will be responsible for development.

Massive 1,000-Unit Mixed-Use Redevelopment Revealed at 1709 Surf Avenue, Coney Island

The building boom enveloping New York City’s waterfront neighborhoods extended into Coney Island last year, with several big projects entering the pipeline. Today, YIMBY has the first rendering for the largest one yet, slated to rise on Surf Avenue. The redevelopment will yield 1,000 apartments, 150,000 square feet of retail space, and 80,000 square feet of offices, indicating the neighborhood’s post-Sandy rebirth is continuing with vigor.

Morris Adjmi-Designed 658 Driggs Avenue Revealed in Williamsburg

While most of Williamsburg’s existing architecture is rather offensive, and some of its recent new developments are not much better, sprinklings of attractive design are gaining tenuous footholds across the neighborhood. One such outpost will be located at 658 Driggs Avenue, and today, YIMBY has a fresh rendering for the project, which is being designed by Morris Adjmi Architects.
