Leasing has begun for two timber buildings being built at 320 and 360 Wythe Avenue, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The projects are making history by way of construction materials, and will become the first new developments in over a century to be built in New York City with a timber structure. Hansen Architects, established in 1945, will be responsible for the design.
Permits have been filed for an eight-story residential building at 532 Clinton Avenue in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. The site is nearby the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center commercial intersection and Brooklyn Museum. The Clinton-Washington Avenues Station, serviced by the A and C trains, is a block away. Also nearby is the Pratt Institute campus. Afshari PC will be responsible for the design.
Among the new towers rising along the Brooklyn waterfront, The Greenpoint, which has already topped out, is among the tallest in its eponymous neighborhood. Permits have been filed for a six-story mixed-use building at 7508 Bay Parkway in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. Two subway stations are about a dozen blocks away from the site. The Bay Parkway Station is serviced by the D train, and Kings Highway Station is serviced by the N, Q, and W trains.
Two Trees Management Company has announced plans to build a full-sized supermarket in Brooklyn’s DUMBO neighborhood, at 66 Front Street, between Washington Street and Main Street. The developers are repurposing the existing single-story parking garage on site as the structure for the grocery store, which will be dubbed DUMBO Market.
